Menu: Edit Object - Delete individual facets or points
Deleting <Points> and Deleting <Facets> respectively
With help of these buttons may selected individual points or facets be deleted from an object.
On the left side of the above illustration is a flat frame object on which several rows of points are selected. If all the points of a triangular facet have been selected the facet is drawn shaded. In the illustration this results in two shaded strips in the frame. You have the facility to delete either all selected points or selected facets only. If you choose the function "Delete" <Facets>, this results in the object shown in the middle illustration in the foregoing example - it is only facets that are deleted. Points that form part of a remaining facet are unaffected.
If, with the same points selected, you had instead chosen the function "Delete" <Points>, then the object would look as shown on the right in the above illustration. All points selected are deleted and with them all facets that are related to these points.
Note! If you delete so many points or facets of an object that no single facet remains, then the relevant object is automatically deleted.
Through erasing points and facets, points sometimes remain that do form a corner of any the remaining facets (as seen in the illustration on the upper right). The <Add Point> function also sometimes generates superfluous unconnected points. These can all be removed with function "Delete" <Unconn. Points>.
Note! Unconnected points are only shown if the entry "Points" (under "View" in the menu bar) has been switched on.
